Looking for a bit of hopeful news? The CSSJ communities has two young adults who will participate in the Discerning Deacons Young Adult Synodal Pilgrimage to Rome in a few weeks!
Lisa Cathelyn (Justice Coordinator for the U.S. Federation) and Kascha Sanor (Director of Social and Environmental Justice for the Congregation of St. Joseph) will participate in this pilgrimage as young adult lay women, carrying the charism of the CSSJ communities throughout the United States in their hearts. They look forward to engaging sisters, associates, agrégées, St. Joseph Workers, and partners in mission in this synodal journey.
Do you wish to accompany these pilgrims?
The pilgrimage from September 29 to October 5 begins with the delegation’s attendance at Together 2023, an international ecumenical gathering of young adults held on the eve of the General Assembly. - Engage in synodal encounters with other young adults and church leaders internationally
- Practice transformational, and collaborative protagonism within a synodal church
- Connect with Sisters of St. Joseph and other vowed religious communities in Rome
- Amplify our stories and those of our communities about the significance of this monumental moment in the life of the Church
Here are some ways you can participate and accompany our pilgrims:
- Commissioning Ceremony: join us on Monday, September 25 at 3-3:30 pm ET/12-12:30 pm PT for a Zoom commissioning for our pilgrims before they depart for Rome. We will extend our prayers for a safe and fruitful journey. Register for the link here
- Please hold all pilgrims in prayer, as they desire to do the same for you. Submit a prayer intention for us here as we journey to Rome in just a few weeks.

- Save-the-Date: Register now for the Synodal Pilgrimage Sharing of the Heart on Monday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. Eastern, 6 p.m. Central, 4 p.m. Pacific on Zoom
