Mission Haiti 2021 Lenten Journey: Rebuilding Haiti through the Empowerment of Girls
The Haiti Calendar this year takes a new approach. It uses the latest encyclical of Pope Francis, Fratelli Tutti (Brothers and Sister All). This social encyclical focuses on social and economic challenges of today, reaching out to others. The calendar offers a quote and reflection for each of the six weeks of Lent. It could be used as shared prayer group, group discussions, or as personal prayer. We welcome your ideas for its use.

Restorative Justice Workshop Talks Moving Theory Into Practice
The U.S. Federation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph hosted their third Restorative Justice Workshop on Thursday, November 19. Leaders who are practicing restorative justice gave brief lectures about how they apply the concepts of restorative justice to their lives and ministries. This was accompanied by a dynamic panel discussion in which attendees asked our panelists critical questions, leaving tangible suggestions on how to translate these values into our own lives.
Remembering the 40th Anniversary of the American Churchwomen Martyred in El Salvador
It was forty years ago on December 2, that four American Catholic churchwomen — four missionaries— were tortured, raped, shot, and murdered in El Salvador by National Guardsmen of the military-led government.

Restorative Justice: Transforming Ourselves and Our Communities
As we move forward as a nation, this question is critical: What can be done to address this history of injustice? In response, the U.S. Federation of the Sisters of St. Joseph released a statement promising to, “turn our words into precise actions addressing the institutional racism that lives within our institutions and within ourselves.” To further this mission the CSSJ community is hosting a four-part series on restorative justice, its relationship to the Charism, and how to practice restorative justice in our ministries and lives.
