Charism in Motion is a program under the Canadian and U.S. Federation’s Lifelong Transformation Committee that is specifically geared towards young adults (ages 21-49). The program kicked off in 2022 and has offered a range of programs. It is open to anyone with a relationship to the Sisters of St. Joseph and their Charism – sisters, associates, agrégées, partners in mission, congregational staff, St. Joseph Worker community, school alums, and more. The program gives people a chance to interact with others united under the mission and Charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph during retreats, professional development, justice programming, spiritual events, and more. Past activities include: a weekend Lenten retreat, scholarships for Event 2022, and a workshop on Trauma Exposure and Stress Responses.
In June 2024, Charism in Motion made their inaugural pilgrimage to visit their foundational roots in Le Puy, France. Pilgrimage facilitator Sr. Michelle Lesher and participant Krista Bailey Murphy spoke to Beyond the Habit about this meaningful experience and how they continue to carry it with them.
