Magnifica Humanitas has landed! This new encyclical from Pope Leo XIV is focused on the care for the human person in the time of Artificial Intelligence and is available here.
I invite all members of the Church and of the human family: let us learn to listen to one another, face the present challenges with courage, and cooperate in building a more human and fraternal society. […] Please take with you a commitment to stay awake and, as ‘artisans of hope’, to keep on building the worksite of our time. May the Spirit of the Risen Lord Jesus sustain our work together. – Pope Leo XIV
The Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development has made available a pastoral proposal with resources aimed at facilitating the understanding and in-depth analysis of the Encyclical. The Kit contains a simplified summary of Magnifica Humanitas that proposes for each chapter: a brief synthesis, some citations from the Document, questions for personal and community reflection, suggestions for a practical and experiential approach, relevant biblical texts, some review questions, and a closing prayer. In the kit are also present: a proposal for activities for young people and children. You can access that set of materials here.
As we we seek to dive into the document and explore the themes, you are invited to a panel on June 11th with CSSJ perspectives from the vantage point of theology, technology and justice.

Speakers include Sr. Colleen Gibson, SSJ who serves as Coordinator of Pastoral Care at St. John-St. Paul Catholic Collaborative in Wellesley, Massachusetts; Mr. Fred Robinson who is the Director of Technology for the Sisters of Saint Joseph in Brentwood, New York; and, Sr. Kari Pohl, CSJ who serves as the Congregational Coordinator of Justice and Peace for the Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden, PA.
